Basketball Recap: Northgate Gets the Win

It's playoff time, and Northgate had no trouble coming through when it counted. They secured a 35-31 W over the Vallejo Redhawks on Wednesday. The Broncos haven't had any issues with the Redhawks recently, as the game was their third consecutive victory against them.

Donatella Borvice continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds. Those 18 boards gave her a new career-high. Brooke Rooney was another key player, putting up nine points in addition to eight rebounds and four steals.

Northgate smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 24 consecutive matchups.

Northgate's win bumped their record up to 13-15. As for Vallejo, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 17-12.

Looking ahead, Northgate will challenge Las Lomas at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Vallejo does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
