Basketball Recap: Collegium Charter Cougar vs. Jenkintown Drakes
The Collegium Charter Cougar won the last time they faced the Jenkintown Drakes, and things went their way on Monday too. Collegium Charter walked away with a 36-29 win over the Drakes.
Kori Beasley was her usual excellent self, scoring 17 points along with five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Collegium Charter's points. Nasira Towles was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with five steals.
Collegium Charter is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-12 record this season. As for Jenkintown, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 9-11.
Collegium Charter won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against the Golden Bears at 5:30 p.m. on February 6th. Merion Mercy Academy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 23 points in their last four games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse. As for Jenkintown, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Lions at 7:00 p.m.
