Football Recap: Strathmore Starts Season with Defeat on the Road + How To Watch

Strathmore had to start their season on the road on Friday, and it wasn't the start they were hoping for. They lost 29-7 to the Liberty Hawks. The Spartans were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Hawks apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Several Spartans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Dion Ambriz, who picked up 91 receiving yards and one score. Isaiah Colunga was another key signal caller, throwing for 133 yards and one touchdown.

Strathmore wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 53-7 victory against Avenal on the 29th. As for Liberty, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, a 38-13 win against Mendota on the 29th.
