Game recap: Academy of Holy Angels takes down Kasson-Mantorville

RICHFIELD, Minn. - After two lead changes, Academy of Holy Angels (Richfield, Minn.) took the lead for the win when they ran for a touchdown with less than a minute remaining in the fourth quarter and held on to upset Kasson-Mantorville (Kasson, Minn.) 21-14 on Saturday.

The teams went into the locker room at halftime deadlocked at seven. The Stars took the lead indefinitely on a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

The loss came as a surprise for the Komets, who entered the game ranked No. 17 in the MaxPreps Freeman Rankings for Minnesota, while Academy of Holy Angels was ranked No. 85.

Coming into the game AHA had allowed 23.3 points per game this year.

The defeat comes as a step back for Kasson-Mantorville, which notched a 35-7 victory over Stewartville in its previous outing. The win brought Academy of Holy Angels' winning streak to three games. The loss snapped Kasson-Mantorville's three-game winning streak.
