Lakeside came out on top against Galloway on Wednesday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run second inning. The Vikings put the hurt on the Scots with a sharp 12-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Vikings, who have now won ten games by six runs or more so far this season.
Margo Peller-Morrison was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out six batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in August. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Sydney Conrad, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Macie Williamson was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lakeside was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .440. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .300 or higher in four consecutive contests.
Dunwoody hit Chamblee with a five-run seventh inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Bulldogs lost 14-6 to the Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by exactly eight runs.
Madison Jones made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Godwin, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.
Lakeside is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 13-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.9 runs over those games. As for Chamblee, their loss dropped their record down to 11-13.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Lakeside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .325. However, it's not like Chamblee struggles in that department as they've averaged .331. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
