Softball Recap: Trenton Comes Up Short

For whatever reason, it's the away team that's had the advantage when Trenton and Putnam County meet (three straight games heading into this one) and that held true again on Tuesday. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Midgets by a score of 2-1. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Midgets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2024.

Trenton's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Putnam County, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-8.

Trenton and Putnam County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Bulldogs will take on Albany at 5:00 p.m. on Monday with a big rank disadvantage (117 vs. 35). Meanwhile, Putnam County (ranked 168th) will meet South Harrison (ranked 42nd) at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
