Football Recap: Long Branch Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Long Branch was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 11th straight defeat dating back to last season. They were dealt a 42-0 loss at the hands of the Matawan Regional Huskies. While losing is never fun, the Green Wave can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey football rankings (they are ranked 247th, while the Huskies are ranked 121st).

Long Branch's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Matawan Regional, they pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Long Branch will head out to take on Central Regional at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. The Golden Eagles' defense has only allowed 11.7 points per game this season, so the Green Wave's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Matawan Regional, they are taking a road trip to challenge Middletown North at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
