Volleyball Recap: Blue Ridge Takes a Loss

Blue Ridge saw some tournament action on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Red Mountain Mountain Lions.

Chloe York paced Blue Ridge's offense, picking up seven kills. York got some help from Brianna Robison and her 12 assists. Robison also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Makenzie Smith, racking up two apiece.

Leading Red Mountain to victory were Ella Sullivan and Rihanna Brooks. Sullivan had six digs and two aces, while Brooks had eight assists and three digs.

Blue Ridge has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-8 record this season. As for Red Mountain, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 7-9.

Blue Ridge wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Holbrook on the 19th. As for Red Mountain, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Thatcher on the 19th.
