Softball Recap: Centennial Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Centennial, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Saturday. They had just enough and edged out the Polk County Slammers 10-8. For the Broncos, this counts as revenge for the 12-3 win the Slammers walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Centennial got a massive performance out of Anna Warm, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. That's the most runs Warm has posted over her last six contests. Paityn Scheele was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one double.

Centennial's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-11-1. As for Polk County, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.

Coming up, Centennial will head out to square off against Kearney Catholic at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Broncos' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Stars have averaged an impressive 10.2 runs per game this season. As for Polk County, they will host York at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
