Basketball Game Preview: Edison Tigers vs. San Joaquin Memorial Panthers

Edison hasn't had much luck against San Joaquin Memorial recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Edison Tigers face off against the San Joaquin Memorial Panthers at 6:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Having struggled with six losses in a row, Edison turned things around against Corcoran last Saturday. They managed a 54-49 win over the Panthers.

Paige Hamilton was a one-woman wrecking crew for Edison as she posted 26 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Hamilton has scored at least a third of Edison's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Angelique Montez, who put up 12 points.

Meanwhile, San Joaquin Memorial narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Vanden 63-60.

Edison's record now sits at 6-10. As for San Joaquin Memorial, their record now sits at 9-4.

Edison was taken down by San Joaquin Memorial 72-32 in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. Can Edison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
