Soccer Game Preview: Whitefield Academy vs. Providence Christian Academy

The Whitefield Academy WolfPack will square off against the Providence Christian Academy Storm on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Whitefield Academy sitting on three straight victories and Providence Christian Academy on seven.

Whitefield Academy is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. While the 1-1 score might suggest a draw, it was the WolfPack who were credited with the win. Whitefield Academy got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to Lovett's three. Given Whitefield Academy's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Lovett are ranked 180th) , the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Providence Christian Academy's defense heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Calvary Day 1-0. That's two games straight that Providence Christian Academy have won by just one goal.

Their one-goal win came courtesy of Jacob Shapland, who's now up to four this season.

Providence Christian Academy's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-3. Those home wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those seven contests. As for Whitefield Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 15-6.

Whitefield Academy suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Providence Christian Academy in their previous meeting back in February of 2022. Can the WolfPack avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
