Basketball Recap: Fresno Comes Up Short

Fresno was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 35-32 heartbreaker at the hands of the Justin Garza Guardians. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Guardians apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Justin Garza was led to victory by Tyla Maxey and Lailah Whittle. Maxey posted 19 points, while Whittle earned 13 points.

Fresno's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for Justin Garza, they moved to 6-10 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Fresno will venture away from home to square off against Torres at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Justin Garza, they will take on Madera South at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Madera South will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Justin Garza surely won't give up without a fight.
