Basketball Recap: Millard West Wildcats vs. Omaha Westside Warriors

Everything went their way against the Omaha Westside Warriors on Saturday as the Millard West Wildcats made off with a 70-44 victory. The Wildcats have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 20 contests by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Millard West to victory, but perhaps none more so than Neleigh Gessert, who shot 50% from the field to rack up 18 points in addition to six boards and three steals. Gessert has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last four times she's played. Jade Lewis was another key player, going 5-for-9 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds.

Despite the defeat, Omaha Westside saw an underclassman step up: freshman Himayajo Metoyer posted 18 points. With that strong performance, Metoyer is now averaging an impressive 15 points per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Kendyl Davis, who put up six points.
