Baseball Game Preview: Walker Wolverines vs. The Weber School Rams

The Walker Wolverines will head out to square off against The Weber School Rams at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. The Weber School took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Walker, who comes in off a win.

Walker's pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Saturday. They walked away with a 5-0 victory over Mt. Bethel Christian Academy. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Wolverines.

The result came thanks to Zachary Munafo's shutout, as he gave up just three hits. He also tossed a walk, which is notable because Walker is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-8 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Austin Lipscomb, who scored a run and stole Three bases. while going 1-for-2. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Jayden Cohen also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

Meanwhile, The Weber School was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Whitefield Academy. That's two games in a row now that the Rams have lost by exactly three runs.

Walker's win bumped their record up to 6-9. As for The Weber School, their loss dropped their record down to 5-5.

Walker couldn't quite get it done against The Weber School when the teams last played back in February of 2024 as they fell 9-5. Can Walker avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
