Basketball Game Preview: Johnsonburg Rams vs. Brockway Rovers

The Johnsonburg Rams will take on the Brockway Rovers at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Johnsonburg is looking for their season's first win.

On Monday, Johnsonburg was beaten by Moniteau 48-12. The matchup marked the Rams' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Meanwhile, Brockway came up short against DuBois on Saturday and fell 47-38.

Johnsonburg will have to contain Sophia Schmader as she made an impact in Brockway's last game. She dropped a double-double on 14 points and 12 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalina Powell, who posted eight points and four steals.

Even though they lost, Brockway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Johnsonburg's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Brockway, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Things could have been worse for Johnsonburg, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 42-26 loss to Brockway in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Brockway's Rheanna Spinda, who went 10 of 19 on her way to 24 points and five steals.
