Basketball Game Preview: Valley View Eagles vs. Heritage Patriots

The Valley View Eagles and the Heritage Patriots will face off at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest having both just played. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

On Monday, Valley View humbled Paloma Valley with a 63-33 victory. The Eagles have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine matchups by 26 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Heritage came into Monday's game having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They took down Poly 55-36 on Monday. Given the Patriots' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while the Bears are ranked 431st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Valley View has also been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-12 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.9 points per game. As for Heritage, their win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 17-9.

Valley View didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Heritage in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but they still walked away with a 65-61 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Heritage's Sierra Maxwell, who went 11 for 26 on her way to 29 points along with seven rebounds and six steals.
