Preview: Penn Cambria Panthers vs. Somerset Eagles
Penn Cambria is 10-0 against Somerset since January of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Wednesday. The Penn Cambria Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Somerset Eagles at 7:15 p.m. Penn Cambria will be strutting in after a win while Somerset will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Richland scored an imposing 57 points on Monday, Penn Cambria still came out on top. Penn Cambria took their matchup against Richland 64-57. The win was just what Penn Cambria needed coming off of a 64-39 defeat in their prior match.
Penn Cambria found their leader in underclassman Makenna Mccoy, who scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Mccoy has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Reagan Ronan, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Somerset lost to Bishop Carroll at home by a decisive 55-39 margin on Monday. Somerset has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Penn Cambria's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-6. As for Somerset, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
Everything came up roses for Penn Cambria against Somerset in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the squad secured a 69-34 win. With Penn Cambria ahead 48-23 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
