Recap: Del Mar Dons vs. Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors
The Del Mar Dons won the last time they faced the Yerba Buena Aztec Warriors, and things went their way on Saturday too. Del Mar breezed by Yerba Buena at home to the tune of 61-12. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 36-5.
Del Mar found their leader in underclassman Zoey Hinkle, who dropped a double-double on 35 points and 14 rebounds. Those 35 points set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Arseama Kibrom, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 assists.
Del Mar pushed their record up to 7-7 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Yerba Buena, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Del Mar will head out on the road to face off against Gilroy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Yerba Buena, they will be playing at home against James Lick at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. James Lick is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
