Preview: Adelanto Saints vs. Citrus Valley Blackhawks
The Adelanto Saints and the Citrus Valley Blackhawks will face off at 4:30 p.m. on December 27th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Citrus Valley took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Adelanto, who comes in off a win.
Last Thursday, Adelanto was able to grind out a solid victory over Apple Valley, taking the game 50-39. The win was all the more spectacular given Adelanto's disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 469th, while Apple Valley is ranked 209th).
Nina Lacy continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 20 points and 18 rebounds. The game was her 11th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Acacia Netto, who scored eight points.
Meanwhile, Citrus Valley lost to Hesperia at home by a decisive 60-46 margin on Thursday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Citrus Valley in their matchups with Hesperia: they've now lost three in a row.
The win got Adelanto back to even at 6-6. As for Citrus Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.
Everything came up roses for Adelanto against Citrus Valley in their previous matchup on December 5th as the team secured a 73-43 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Adelanto since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
