Basketball Recap: Richland Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Trinity Macey and Lanie Marshall

Richland played a tough contest on Monday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against the Central Cambria Red Devils, falling 69-44. The Rams were down 54-33 at the end of the third quarter, and things only got worse from there.

Richland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Lanie Marshall, who posted ten points in addition to six blocks and five boards, and Trinity Macey, who almost dropped a double-double with 12 points and nine rebounds. That's the most blocks Marshall has posted since back in December of 2024. Another player making a difference was Leyna Roman, who had seven points.

Richland has been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-12 record this season. Central Cambria pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Richland does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Cambria, they will face off against River Valley at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. River Valley will roll in looking for their 27th straight win, something Central Cambria surely won't give up without a fight.
