Basketball Recap: Canyon Crest Academy Comes Up Short

Canyon Crest Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight loss. They were dealt a 42-14 defeat at the hands of the San Dieguito Academy Mustangs. The matchup marked the Ravens' lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Canyon Crest Academy lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Elena Colon, who posted four points and 11 rebounds. Colon is on a roll when it comes to boards, as she's now pulled down eight or more in the last 14 games she's played.

Canyon Crest Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-14. As for San Dieguito Academy, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Canyon Crest Academy wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 59-36 defeat against Vista on the 24th. As for San Dieguito Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 52-39 victory against El Camino on the 24th.
