University Pathways Medical Magnet scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They greeted the New Year with with a 36-22 victory over Fulton. The victory was some much needed relief for University Pathways Medical Magnet as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
University Pathways Medical Magnet got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Gianna Benitez out in front who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. That makes it four consecutive games in which Benitez has scored at least 25% of University Pathways Medical Magnet's points. Mia Munguia was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five steals.
University Pathways Medical Magnet's win bumped their record up to 2-10. As for Fulton, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-6.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Grant the next time they take the court. University Pathways Medical Magnet will head out to face Grant at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, while Fulton will head out to face them at 3:30 p.m. on Thursday.
