Softball Recap: Iberia Wins Going Away Against Dixon

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Iberia). Everything went their way against the Dixon Bulldogs on Thursday as they made off with an 8-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Rangers in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

Jaylyn Piggott made a splash no matter where she played. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in September of 2024. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, Kya Yoakum was incredible, going 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in October of 2024. Katie Pryor was another key player, going 3-for-5 with one double and one RBI.

Iberia hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in four consecutive contests.

Iberia's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Dixon, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Iberia didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next matchup, an 8-1 victory against Osage on the 26th. As for Dixon, they will face off against Stoutland at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
