Softball Recap: Elgin Comes Up Short

It was a good run, but Elgin unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Enid Plainsmen by a score of 5-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Owls have suffered since September 9th.

Kynli Garrett made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one double.

Elgin's defeat dropped their record down to 23-10. As for Enid, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.

Elgin will challenge Carl Albert at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Owls 2.8, the Titans 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Enid, they will square off against Deer Creek at 1:00 p.m. on Friday.
