Soccer Game Preview: Avenal vs. Firebaugh

The Avenal Buccaneers will head out to challenge the Firebaugh Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

The home team had won the previous two meetings between Avenal and Coalinga, and Coalinga kept the tradition alive. The Buccaneers fell just short of the Horned Toads by a score of 1-0 on Friday.

Meanwhile, Firebaugh can bid farewell to their three-match losing streak thanks to their match on Friday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Tranquillity 3-2.

Firebaugh's win bumped their record up to 12-6-2. As for Avenal, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-7-5.

Avenal was able to grind out a solid victory over Firebaugh when the teams last played last Thursday, winning 3-1. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Buccaneers since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
