Softball Recap: Clarksville Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

It's playoff time, and Clarksville had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the St. Edmond Gaels on Wednesday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won 18 matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory (which was Clarksville's eighth in a row) raised their record to 30-4. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.9 runs on average over those games. As for St. Edmond, they moved to 23-11 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Clarksville and St. Edmond are set to take part in some playoff action in their next matches. The Indians will face off against Wayne on Friday. The Falcons will roll in looking for their 15th straight victory, something Clarksville surely won't give up without a fight. As for St. Edmond, they will square off against Riverside on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gaels 3.6, the Bulldogs 3.6) so any runs scored will be well earned.
