Soccer Game Preview: Washington Union vs. Central Valley Christian

The Washington Union Panthers will face off against the Central Valley Christian Cavaliers at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Washington Union's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

It was a proper cat-fight when Washington Union took on Kerman on Thursday. Washington Union lost 6-0 to Kerman. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 829th, while the Lions are ranked 238th).

Meanwhile, after low-scoring totals in their previous four contests, Central Valley Christian brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They never let Exeter onto the board and left with a 6-0 win on Thursday. Considering the Cavaliers' offense had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Their offense was hitting Exeter from everywhere, as five different players booted in a goal. Cooper Piepgrass led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by herself.

Central Valley Christian's victory bumped their record up to 9-4-6. As for Washington Union, their loss dropped their record down to 5-13-4.
