Basketball Recap: St. Mary's Piles Up the Points Against Lodi

A well-balanced attack led St. Mary over Lodi in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the St. Mary's Rams blew the Lodi Flames out of the water with a 75-20 final score. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-18.

Nyah Buntun went supernova for St. Mary's, going 6 of 8 en route to 14 points in addition to eight steals and six assists. Another player making a difference was Amani Rafiq, who posted 12 points and three steals.

Buntun wasn't the only one working in the assists department: St. Mary's was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lodi only posted two assists.

St. Mary's now has a winning record of 12-11. As for Lodi, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-11.

St. Mary's will have a chance to go back-to-back against Lodi: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
