Basketball Game Preview: The Webb Schools Gauls vs. San Gabriel Academy Eagles

The Webb Schools Gauls are taking a road trip to square off against the San Gabriel Academy Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Neither The Webb Schools nor San Gabriel Academy posted many points in their last games, so it might be the defenses that decide this one.

The Webb Schools is headed into the match out to prove that what happened against Carson on Saturday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. The Webb Schools was dealt a 60-19 defeat at the hands of Carson. The Gauls were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-12.

Pristine Thomas put forth a good effort for the losing side as she posted eight points in addition to 19 boards and five steals. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 15 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Chijioke Mgbeke, who put up five points.

Meanwhile, San Gabriel Academy came up short against South Hills on Monday, falling 45-25.

San Gabriel Academy has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-6 record this season. As for The Webb Schools, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-10.
