West Philadelphia came tearing into Friday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against the Simon Gratz Bulldogs by a score of 60-48. This was payback for the Speedboys, who suffered a 37-34 loss the last time these two teams met.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead West Philadelphia to victory, but perhaps none more so than Devin Sadat, who went 5 for 8 on her way to 12 points in addition to eight boards and five steals. Sadat has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kashay Ryder, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 16 rebounds.

Despite the loss, Simon Gratz still got an impressive performance from Zakkiyah Lucas, who posted 25 points. Another player making a difference was Zakirah Loftin, who scored seven points.

West Philadelphia pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Simon Gratz, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 8-3.

West Philadelphia has already played their next match, a 43-31 loss against Cristo Rey Philadelphia on the 20th. As for Simon Gratz, they will head out on the road to take on Parkway Center City at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Parkway Center City's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Simon Gratz's offense will have their work cut out for them.
