Basketball Game Preview: Montebello Oilers vs. Schurr Spartans

Montebello is 1-9 against Schurr since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Montebello Oilers will take on the Schurr Spartans at 5:00 p.m.

Montebello is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their 16th straight game dating back to last season on Friday. They were outmatched by Bell Gardens and fell 63-18. The Oilers were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-12.

Meanwhile, Schurr earned a 45-32 win over Alhambra on Friday.

Montebello's loss dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Schurr, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-11 record this season.

Montebello might still be hurting after the 52-31 defeat they got from Schurr in their previous meeting back in January of 2024. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Montebello was down 28-8.
