Basketball Recap: Shikellamy's Win on Saturday Extends Winning Streak to Seven

Shikellamy came tearing into Saturday's contest with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 24.7 points), and they left with even more momentum. They breezed past the Warrior Run Defenders to the tune of 68-11. The Braves have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight matches by 24 points or more this season.

Shikellamy was led to victory by Lily Fatool and Nadia Smith. Fatool went 7-for-16 en route to 15 points in addition to seven steals and six assists, while Smith almost dropped a double-double with 14 points and nine boards. Fatool's afternoon made it eight games in a row in which she has scored at least 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carli Berry, who posted 11 points and four steals.

Shikellamy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Shikellamy pushed their record up to 15-6 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 23.8 points over those games. As for Warrior Run, they are on a 22-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-21.

Shikellamy has already played their next game, a 66-58 win against Southern Columbia Area on the 10th. As for Warrior Run, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 54-18 defeat against Danville on the 10th.
