Soccer Recap: Corning Takes a Loss

Corning lost against Live Oak back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Corning Cardinals fell 2-0 to the Live Oak Lions. That's two games in a row now that the Cardinals have lost by exactly two goals.

This is the second loss in a row for Corning and nudges their season record down to 10-8. As for Live Oak, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-7.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Corning challenge the Oroville at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corning is facing Oroville at the right time seeing as Oroville is stuck on a seven-game losing streak. As for Live Oak, they will venture away from home to face off against Gridley at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Live Oak will also cruise into their next game with the timing on their side: Gridley will have lost three straight heading into Thursday's contest.
