Soccer Game Preview: Truckee vs. South Tahoe

Truckee is 1-8-1 against South Tahoe since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Wolverines will challenge the Vikings at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Truckee had to skate by with only a one-goal margin when they last took the pitch, which might have inspired the five-goal drubbing they dealt Debbie Smith CTE Academy on Wednesday. The Wolverines put the hurt on the Mavericks with a sharp 6-1 win. The victory was nothing new for Truckee as they're now sitting on three straight.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask South Tahoe). They never let Debbie Smith CTE Academy get on the board and left with an 8-0 win last Thursday. The final result isn't all that surprising considering South Tahoe's considerable advantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked eighth in California, while Debbie Smith CTE Academy are ranked 62nd in Nevada).

Truckee's record is now 11-1. As for South Tahoe, their record now sits at 11-2-2.

Truckee came up short against South Tahoe in their previous meeting back in September, falling 4-2. Can the Wolverines avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
