Football Game Preview: Bayou Academy Colts vs. Riverfield Academy Raiders

The Bayou Academy Colts will take on the Riverfield Academy Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Riverfield Academy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Bayou Academy, who comes in off a win.

Bayou Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 52-27 margin over St. Joseph Catholic on Friday. The victory was a breath of fresh air for the Colts as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.

The match pitted two dominant backs against one another in Aiden Borganelli and Syrone McBeath. Borganelli had a great game and rushed for 202 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 9.2 yards per carry. Meanwhile, McBeath was balling out in the loss, rushing for 234 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 12.3 yards per carry, and also picking up 45 receiving yards.

Meanwhile, Riverfield Academy fell victim to Parklane Academy and their airtight defense on Friday. They were outmatched by the Pioneers and fell 35-0. The Raiders' loss continues a trend for the team, making it three in a row.

Bayou Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Riverfield Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-4.

Bayou Academy was able to grind out a solid victory over Riverfield Academy in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, winning 24-13. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
