Basketball Game Preview: Stockton Christian Eagles vs. Quarry Lane Cougars

The Stockton Christian Eagles will challenge the Quarry Lane Cougars at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Last Tuesday, Stockton Christian was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 47-41 to Lodi Academy.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Kayla Sanchez, who posted 19 points. Another player making a difference was Jami Araya, who scored 14 points.

Meanwhile, Quarry Lane ended up a good deal behind Averroes on Monday and lost 27-12. While the Cougars didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Falcon 7-2 in the first quarter.

Despite the loss, Quarry Lane saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Avery Arsanjani put up ten points.

Stockton Christian's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-9. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points over those games. As for Quarry Lane, their loss dropped their record down to 10-9.

Things could have been worse for Stockton Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 46-30 loss to Quarry Lane in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Quarry Lane's Annie Zhang, who had 22 points.
