Preview: Foothill Knights vs. United Christian Academy Eagles
The Foothill Knights will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against the United Christian Academy Eagles at 1:00 p.m. on December 27th. Hopefully Foothill focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
Last Saturday, Foothill suffered a rough 60-38 defeat at the hands of Cerritos. While losing is never fun, Foothill can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 804th, while Cerritos is ranked 227th).
The loss doesn't tell the whole story though, as several players had good games. One of the most active was Charlotte Fajardo, who scored 18 points. Elize McAveney was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, United Christian Academy's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 44-37 to South Hills. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for United Christian Academy in their matchups with South Hills: they've now lost three in a row.
Foothill has not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-9 record this season. As for United Christian Academy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 8-5.
