Basketball Recap: 11 Straight Home Victories for Banning

With a playoff win on the line, Banning rose to the challenge on Wednesday. They walked away with a 46-35 victory over the Lincoln Tigers. Winning may never get old, but the Pilots sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.

Tavanna Price had an outrageously good game as she dropped a double-double with 12 points and 17 boards. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 8.1 rebounds per game. Another player making a difference was Melony Bernabe, who posted six points along with nine boards and three steals.

Banning smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 22 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln only eight offensive rebounds.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln lost, don't look at Mikayla Velasco. Despite the final result, she had 14 points and four steals. Leqi 'Maggie' Zhen was another key player, putting up 14 points and four steals.

Banning's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.1 points over those games. As for Lincoln, they have been struggling recently as they've lost eight of their last ten matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season.

Banning has already played their next game, a 58-17 victory against Poly on the 21st. Lincoln does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
