Hempstead is a perfect 3-0 against Jefferson since October of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Hawks at 7:15 p.m. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with four consecutive losses for Hempstead and five for Jefferson.

On Friday, Hempstead came up short against Dubuque Senior and fell 28-19.

Meanwhile, Jefferson fell victim to Bettendorf and their airtight defense on Friday. They were dealt a 34-0 defeat at the hands of the Bulldogs. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Hawks were not able to get on the board.

Hempstead's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Jefferson, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-6.

Everything came up roses for Hempstead against Jefferson when the teams last played back in October of 2020, as the squad secured a 54-16 victory. Will the Mustangs repeat their success, or do the Hawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
