Softball Game Preview: Adams City Eagles vs. Aurora Central Trojans

For the second straight game, Adams City will face off against Aurora Central. The Eagles will be playing at home against the Trojans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.

On Tuesday, Adams City made easy work of Aurora Central and carried off a 16-6 victory. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.

Giannah Chavez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Chavez was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted over her last ten matchups.

In other batting news, Karyme Martinez was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in September. The team also got some help courtesy of Joselyn Enriquez-Ruiz, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Adams City's win bumped their record up to 7-12. As for Aurora Central, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.
