Baseball Recap: Jenkins Picks Up Fifth Consecutive Victory

Jenkins entered their tilt with Treutlen on Wednesday with four consecutive wins , and they'll enter their next game with five. They walked away with an 11-8 win over the Treutlen Vikings.

Cruz Texidor and DJ Rohan made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Texidor pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off three hits. Meanwhile, Rohan didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). At the plate, Texidor got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one home run and two RBI, while Rohan scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Rohan is becoming a predictor of Jenkins' success: when he posts at least two stolen bases the team is undefeated (and 4-5 when he doesn't).

In other batting news, Ronald Dunham was incredible, scoring three runs while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Charlie Stuart, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Jenkins' victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Treutlen, they moved to 8-6 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Jenkins will challenge Johnson at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Jenkins knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Johnson likes a good challenge. As for Treutlen, they will square off against Montgomery County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Treutlen is facing Montgomery County at the right time seeing as Montgomery County is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
