Recap: Harvard-Westlake Wolverines vs. Crenshaw Cougars
The Harvard-Westlake Wolverines had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They strolled past Crenshaw with points to spare, taking the game 62-46. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Harvard-Westlake also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2015.
Deana Thompson was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with five rebounds and two steals. She is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 16 or more in the last three games she's played. Madison Gillett was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Harvard-Westlake has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-15 record this season. As for Crenshaw, their loss dropped their record down to 16-7.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harvard-Westlake will take on the Mustangs at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in California (Marlborough is ranked 100th, while the Wolverines are ranked 98th). As for Crenshaw, they will head out on the road to take on the Pathfinders at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
