Softball Recap: Jefferson Takes a Loss

Jefferson couldn't beat Sioux City East on Thursday even though they stacked five runs on them in the fourth inning. The Yellowjackets lost 20-9 to the Black Raiders. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Black Raiders recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.

Lennon Simek was cooking despite her team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and three runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Kalli Lee, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

Jefferson's loss dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Sioux City East, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-4.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Black Raiders beat Jefferson by a score of 10-0 later that day.
