Basketball Recap: Thomas A. Edison Starts Season with Victory Against Martin Luther King

Thomas A. Edison had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They took down the Martin Luther King Cougars 40-25 on Monday. For the Owls, this counts as revenge for the 50-32 win the Cougars walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2024.

Thomas A. Edison can attribute much of their success to Destiny Speach, who posted 13 points. Aleana Wilson was another key player, putting up seven points.

Coming up, Thomas A. Edison will be defending their home court for the first time this season when they go up against Philadelphia Performing Arts at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Martin Luther King, they will hit the road for the first time this season to face off against Mariana Bracetti Academy at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
