Softball Recap: Cordell Wins Going Away Against Thomas-Fay-Custer

Cordell came out on top against Thomas-Fay-Custer on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive nine-run second inning. The Blue Devils put the hurt on the Terriers with a sharp 12-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Blue Devils, who have now won three games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Rylee Larsen made a big impact no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over four innings pitched. Larsen was also big at the plate, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs and one RBI. That RBI marked the first that she has brought in this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kilie Rasmussen, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That double was her first of the season. Natalie Hewitt was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.

Cordell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .630. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Thomas-Fay-Custer only posted an OBP of .200.

The victory got Cordell back to even at 4-4. As for Thomas-Fay-Custer, they dropped their record down to 4-10 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Cordell does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Thomas-Fay-Custer, they will host Geary at 4:45 p.m. on Monday.
