Basketball Recap: Selah Carlos Key Part of a Team Effort in Bears Win

Arvin lost to Golden Valley back in November of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Wednesday. The Arvin Bears took down the Golden Valley Bulldogs 41-23. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bears.

Arvin got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Selah Carlos out in front who went 5 of 12 en route to 12 points in addition to five boards and five steals. Those 12 points gave Carlos a new career-high. Rosario Flores was another key player, going 5 for 10 on her way to 13 points.

Arvin has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.8 points per game. As for Golden Valley, they dropped their record down to 10-7 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.

Arvin has already played their next contest, a 38-31 victory against Foothill on the 17th. As for Golden Valley, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 59-23 loss against Tehachapi on the 17th.
