Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Southeast of Saline walked away with it. They came out on top against the Hoisington Cardinals by a score of 22-12 on Friday. The 22-point effort marked the Trojans' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Grady Gebhardt was his usual excellent self, rushing for 162 yards and one touchdown. His rushing production has been exceptional as that marked his fifth straight game with at least 130 rushing yards.

Southeast of Saline didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaden Barragan and Tiernan Ptacek.

When it comes to explaining why Hoisington lost, don't look at Taylen Morales. Despite the final result, he rushed for 115 yards and one TD. With that strong performance, Morales is now averaging an impressive 104 rushing yards per game.

Southeast of Saline's win bumped their record up to 12-0. As for Hoisington, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 10-1.

Looking ahead, Southeast of Saline will face off against Nemaha Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Trojans 9.4, the Thunder 12.6) so any points scored will be well earned. Hoisington does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
