Soccer Recap: Birmingham Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Birmingham can now relate to. While the 3-3 score might suggest a draw, it was the Marshall Barristers who were credited with the victory on Monday. The Marshall Barristers got it done in the shootout by posting four goals to the Birmingham Patriots' one. The Patriots were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Barristers apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Birmingham's loss dropped their record down to 9-12. As for Marshall, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.

As of now, neither Birmingham nor Marshall have any future games scheduled.
