Soccer Game Preview: Coronado vs. Westview

The Coronado Islanders will take on the Westview Wolverines at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Neither team made it on the board the last time they hit the pitch, so they've probably got a bit of extra motivation.

Coronado is headed into Wednesday's matchup looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They fell 3-1 to Eastlake. While losing is never fun, the Islanders can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 594th, while the Titans are ranked 68th).

Meanwhile, Westview kept a clean sheet against Patrick Henry back in December of 2024. They beat the Patriots by a goal, winning 1-0. The Wolverines wouldn't have won without Kaitlyn Arciaga, who scored the game-winner.

Westview now has a winning record of 3-2-1. As for Coronado, their loss dropped their record down to 1-4-1.
