Soccer Recap: Clemente Comes Up Short

After flying high against Ogden International on Thursday, Clemente came back down to earth. The Wildcats fell just short of the Steinmetz College Prep Silver Streaks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday. One reason for the loss might be Clemente's aggressive play style: Royder Poleo Mata and Eduardo Aponte Mendoza were both handed yellow cards.

Jariah Hernandez and Poleo Mata scored both of Clemente's goals, which were season-firsts for both players.

Clemente's defeat dropped their record down to 2-4. As for Steinmetz College Prep, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Clemente has already played their next game, a 3-2 win against Instituto Health Sciences on the 11th. As for Steinmetz College Prep, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next matchup, a 6-4 victory against Tilden on the 11th.
